Doula Services
Continuous physical, emotional, and informational support during birth
About This Treatment
A doula provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. Unlike medical providers, doulas focus solely on the mother's comfort and emotional needs. Research shows doula support reduces labor time, decreases requests for pain medication, reduces cesarean rates, and increases satisfaction with birth experience. Doulas never perform medical tasks but are invaluable support partners.
Benefits

What to Expect
You'll meet with your doula 2-3 times before birth to discuss your preferences and get to know each other. When labor begins, your doula comes to you and provides continuous support - comfort measures, position changes, massage, encouragement, and advocacy. They support your partner too. After birth, many doulas provide postpartum visits to check on recovery and breastfeeding. Choose your doula carefully for good fit.
