Art Therapy
Therapeutic use of creative expression for healing and self-discovery
About This Treatment
Art therapy uses creative expression as a tool for healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. Art therapists are trained in both art and psychology. Clients create art in various media (painting, drawing, sculpture, collage) to express feelings, resolve conflicts, reduce anxiety, increase self-awareness, and process trauma. The focus is on the creative process, not artistic skill. Art can express what words cannot.

What to Expect
Sessions provide various art materials and a supportive space. The therapist may suggest themes or exercises, or you create freely. You work on your art while the therapist observes and engages with you about your process and the meaning of your work. Sessions last 50-90 minutes. You don't need artistic skill - the process and self-expression are what matter. Art often reveals insights words miss.
